Nevada security deposit law

Nevada landlords have 30 days to return a security deposit after you move out. The deposit can’t be more than 3 months’ rent.

The cap covers the deposit and any surety bond combined, including last month’s rent.
The deadline
30 days after the tenancy ends, with an itemized written accounting.
Interest
State law doesn’t require interest on the deposit.
Deductions
The landlord must give you an itemized list of anything kept from the deposit.
If it isn’t returned
Failing to return within 30 days: liable for the entire deposit plus up to that amount again, as set by the court (NRS 118A.242(6)).
