South Carolina rent increase notice

South Carolina landlords must give at least 30 days’ notice before raising the rent on a month-to-month tenancy. There’s no statewide rent control.

Notice: No rent-increase statute; a month-to-month rent change effectively requires the 30-day notice used to end the tenancy.
Rent control: State law bars counties and municipalities from regulating rent on private residential property (S.C. Code § 27-39-60).
