- No statute sets a rent-increase notice period. Month-to-month tenancies can be ended on one rental period’s notice (MCL 554.134). Mid-lease increases for higher taxes, utilities or insurance need a lease clause and 30 days’ notice (MCL 554.633(1)(l)).
