Missouri security deposit law

Missouri landlords have 30 days to return a security deposit after you move out. The deposit can’t be more than 2 months’ rent.

30 days after the tenancy ends. The tenant has a right to attend the move-out inspection.
Interest
Any interest earned belongs to the landlord.
Deductions
The landlord must give you an itemized list of anything kept from the deposit.
If it isn’t returned
Wrongful withholding: the tenant recovers twice the amount wrongfully withheld.
