Nebraska security deposit law

Nebraska landlords have 14 days to return a security deposit after you move out. The deposit can’t be more than 1 month’s rent.

A pet deposit of up to 1/4 month’s rent may be added.

The landlord must give you an itemized list of anything kept from the deposit.
If it isn’t returned
The tenant recovers the amount due plus court costs and attorney’s fees. Willful bad-faith noncompliance adds the lesser of one month’s rent or twice the deposit.
