Tennessee rent increase notice

Tennessee landlords must give at least 30 days’ notice before raising the rent on a month-to-month tenancy. There’s no statewide rent control.

Notice: No rent-increase statute; a month-to-month rent change effectively requires the 30-day notice used to end the tenancy.
Rent control: State law bars local governments from controlling rent on private residential or commercial property (Tenn. Code Ann. § 66-35-102).
