Minnesota notice to vacate rules

In Minnesota, landlords and tenants must each give 30 days’ notice to end a month-to-month tenancy. For unpaid rent, the notice period is 14 days.

Landlord ends month-to-month: 30 days
Tenant ends month-to-month: 30 days
Week-to-week: 7 days
Unpaid rent: 14 days
Lease violation: No fixed period

Unpaid rent: 14-day written notice to cure the rent delinquency before filing an eviction (§ 504B.321, subd. 1a).
Lease violations: No statutory notice or cure period before filing for a lease breach; lease terms govern. Tenancy-at-will notice equals the rent interval (max 3 months).
