Connecticut rent increase notice

Connecticut law sets no fixed number of days’ notice for a rent increase on a month-to-month tenancy. There’s no statewide rent control.

Statewide rent control: No

Notice: Written notice of at least one full rental term for leases of one month or less (so one month for month-to-month); 45 days for longer leases. Applies to agreements entered into, renewed, or extended on or after October 1, 2024.
Rent control: No statewide cap. Towns with 25,000 or more residents must have fair rent commissions that can review and order reductions of excessive rent charges (Conn. Gen. Stat. § 7-148b).
